  1. I love Kefir and make my own on a regular basis. The only problem I have found with making it is that I am unable to buy raw milk. My state in America does not allow for the sale of raw milk.

    • I’ve heard that the case in many places in America, raw milk is banned. It’s ridiculous. The pasteurized, processed, homogenized stuff is what should be banned, that’s what’s bad for you. I have read that kind of milk is allowed to have some huge amount of puss in the milk and is still sold as safe to drink. What if you switched to goat’s milk, do the same laws apply? Not being as common, that industry may not be a strict. I’ve never tried it, but i’ve heard that goat’s milk makes beautiful kefir too.

I can get raw milk here, but I’ve eliminated dairy products from my diet now. My partner still loves the kefir though. I’m going to be doing some experiments with the kefir grains to see if I can make a decent coconut milk kefir. I know that people do make coconut milk kefir. It sounds yummy!
