Kefir Grains Now Available
Kefir grains are now available through our online store. Kefir is a delicious and healthy probiotic milk drink, similar to yogurt but with even more health benefits. It’s a great way to colonize the beneficial bacteria in your gut. It’s been said that our health begins with our digestive system. A healthy digestive system allows us to extract and assimilate the nutrients in our food. The beneficial bacteria in our gut also produce some nutrients for our body through their normal metabolic processes, and help to eliminate pathogenic (bad) bacteria.
Kefir is even easier to make than yogurt. In fact, it has to be one of the easiest of all the fermented foods to make. Find out more or buy kefir grains here.
Shipping is only within NZ at the moment. I’m currently looking at ways to ship overseas, I’ve dried some grains and just need to confirm that they will reconstitute and work okay before I start selling them.

I love Kefir and make my own on a regular basis. The only problem I have found with making it is that I am unable to buy raw milk. My state in America does not allow for the sale of raw milk.

I’ve heard that the case in many places in America, raw milk is banned. It’s ridiculous. The pasteurized, processed, homogenized stuff is what should be banned, that’s what’s bad for you. I have read that kind of milk is allowed to have some huge amount of puss in the milk and is still sold as safe to drink. What if you switched to goat’s milk, do the same laws apply? Not being as common, that industry may not be a strict. I’ve never tried it, but i’ve heard that goat’s milk makes beautiful kefir too.
I can get raw milk here, but I’ve eliminated dairy products from my diet now. My partner still loves the kefir though. I’m going to be doing some experiments with the kefir grains to see if I can make a decent coconut milk kefir. I know that people do make coconut milk kefir. It sounds yummy!
