I know this has nothing to do with food, but it's something that I feel is so important to health and well being that I just have to share it with you. I've just come across this beautiful technique for bringing yourself back to the present moment, connecting with your body and expressing gratitude for the things in your life that you're grateful for. The great thing is that this isn't something that you have to make time for, you just work it into what you already do during the day. You can do it while your taking a shower, washing the dishes, walking from your car to the store. Any time you're moving and doing things that don't require a lot of conscious thought.
It's called a Walking Gratitude Meditation, but you don't have to be walking, just moving in some way.

Thanks so much for featuring my post! Actually, there’s another sort of mindfulness practice I’ll be posting about shortly that has a lot to do with eating, or rather, the urge to eat when we really aren’t hungry!
Cheers,
Miche 🙂

Eat Healthy
Hi Miche, you’re welcome, it’s my pleasure! I just recently found your blog and I love reading it!
I look forward to your post on eating when we’re not hungry. I’ve been trying to eat a raw vegan diet combined with eating what’s local (from our garden) and in season. It’s really interesting, I’ve lost just about all the extra weight I was carrying, effortlessly and felt heaps better of course, lots of energy. It was really interesting seeing what came up in the way of cravings and wanting to eat when I wasn’t really hungry. I have actually learned to enjoy feeling hungry, or I might put it more accurately by saying, not always feeling full. I think that most of us in Western countries, where food is really easy to come by, think that we have to feel full all the time. We mistakenly think that if we don’t feel full we are hungry and need to eat.
